I read this book hoping for a pure adventure and received a partial love story which took up most of the book. I do not stop reading because of content read, but in hope of an increasing adventure. It contained some adventure but at 75 years of age I do not envision a love story as my cup of tea. A good shot of scotch would be more suitable. If you like to read, then this may be ok. I would not recommend it for just anyone. I do not answer questions. In fact I'll answer no more reviews as it ruins the very reason for reading anything.
Form start to finish you don't want to put it down. Great look at what life could have been like for the trappers and native at that time.
This book is a tale about Alaska. Not a true western but just as good. Was hard to lay it down!!
Very entertaining, in a classic Western kind of way.
I hope there is another book to follow up on these. I was not happy with the abrupt ending. Need to know more about the gold mine, the upcoming, wedding,etc. The last chapter felt really rushed.u
A different location than the other three Raine western books I have read but well described never the less. Interesting plot with his typical mostly unpredictable twists and subplots. He retained me enough to read yet another of his stories so to that this must be a positive recommendation.
There's no such thing as a automatic revolver. It was easy to tell how it would turn out. More of a love story.
